Todays Angel Flight was down to Greensboro NC to pick up a young Lady (her name was Kate…. and by the way, she loves to fly !) Kate had been at Victory Junction Camp. We flew her home to Newport News VA and then headed home. The weather today was severe clear with some light turbulence below 6000 feet. All approaches were visual. We had a slight tailwind going down to Greensboro NC and over to Newport News…. but a fairly good head wind heading back to home base. Kates Family was waiting for her at the Airport in Newport News and the staff at Rick Aviation treated us like GOLD ! (Even had a hot pot of coffee ready for us !) The Blue Ridge Mountains were very majestic as we flew over them coming home as the Sun was getting lower and lower creating long, wonderful shadowing.
